Autumn

Autumn, An Egypt Original

summer,

for me,

is how autumn feels to most people

sun rays make a home on my head just as

cloudy rain and fall leaves comfort the mind.

hot beverages

still start the good life for me

creamy swirls

bring relief

to a task list not yet created

and a steamy brew

flows with the morning air

so naturally

the first sweat

Broken by fire on the stove

relieved by the pitter-patter

of rainfall;

bursts of a tender breeze

wash those worries away

even  in the midst of wrathful thunderstorms

while the feast

of a colorful breakfast

only drives

my hunger

for new adventure

toasty tans

and sprinkles to cool me down

sandy beaches with amazing zeal

morning air

during the fall

can’t compare

to the way the sunrise in the summer

makes me feel
